Claris clearly believe they can get more mileage out of their new stack that includes MongoDB. That said, when people are looking at comparing Claris Pro and FileMaker Pro, we have to be cautious about the information we share. What do we have that we can point to as a source? We need to be accurate in our statements, each one of us. Not everyone is welcoming this type of change, and saying that Claris Pro is doing away with the db engine FileMaker has used for years can lead some community members to be more apprehensive than required if that tech has not been deprecated. Everything I heard from Claris leads me to believe Draco is there to stay, and that they will work on making interactions with MongoDB as seamless as possible. There is a big difference in that approach and saying that Draco is being torn off and replaced by something else. ---

Draco is replaced in Claris Studio, not in Claris Pro, and these two products can connect to the other one. That interaction is in it's beginning and will get better in the time. ---

FileMaker is doing a lot of things in the background, which is good for the lower end of low-code. Unfortunately, it does not give developers more control when required.
