Thanks Christian

Hi @nicklightbody,
just tested the 5 files. It's a nifty framework! :+1:

On a MacBook tied to Internet by a 200 MBit/s line there is no significant difference in performance. On mobile, the difference is significant.

All machines have latest OS releases.
FMP 19.2, resp. FMGo 19

Test 2 results for the _sp version:

MacBook Gbit LAN - 200MBit/s WAN : 81
MacBook WLAN - 200M Bit/s WAN: 81.69
iPhone 7 WLAN - 200 Mbit/s WAN: 147.85
iPhone 7 4G: 295.22

Test 2 with _on version stopped 2 times at 501 pictures on iPhone 7 over WLAN, but is much slower than the _sp version.

Pinged desk space.fmcloud.fm. Roundtrip avg is 23.58 ms.

Thank you @Torsten - I appreciate the time you took to test and to feedback.
Did you notice the big difference between the _on and _sp - file size?

This is reproducible where a super simple test file shows the same behaviour - if you select open storage and no thumb nails the size of the .fmp12 file balloons to approx 10 x the size for the exact same set of imported images.

It is very interesting that you noticed a difference in speed - I am looking forward to analysing all the log data from the five files. I will report the results here.

I am thinking of creating an Add-On of this Images System, it has been written as a discrete module so it should be fairly easy to carve out once I have worked out how to create an Add-on.

David Head gave an excellent presso to the Ann Arbour User Group last week explaining how the creation of Add-ons works and I hope that he will let me have a copy.

Cheers, Nick
