Totally! I use my text expander to correct funciton to function. And it corrects some other similar typos I make almost daily too.
I use karabiner to remap esc to F12 and avoid that F*** touchbar issue (the worst and useless feature mac have ever released), because its not only a FileMaker issue, I also have the problem when typing an email for instance and so many other cases...
The only thing that keeps bother me, is that F12 (which is remapped to esc) opens the chrome developper tools now !
Regarding the touchbar/keyboard posts here: I’ve been using the [Matias Wireless Keyboard] (Matias Wireless Aluminum Keyboard) for a few years now, as I can’t stand doing “real work” on a MBP (or any laptop) keyboard. This keyboard works well for me; has all the normal keys of a full-scale keyboard; adds 10-key pad which I use constantly, etc.
It’ll also pair with up to four Bluetooth devices, so pretty versatile. And key travel is bit more than current MBPs—about like 2011 MBPs I’d guess.
I leave it at the office, but often miss it when working from home or while traveling. I’ll buy another for home the next time I’m in the States, or if I get around to looking into international shipping to Thailand.
EDIT to add: I do use a few of the touchbar features even while connected to the external keyboard. It’s nice to have both. And touchID is the bomb.
