Big announcements from FMI?

Open source is a non-specific term.

Discourse is available under Gnu GPL v2. Since a while.

Hum,

looks interesting . . . Hope the shoes will follow the lips - translation from French espérons que les bottines vont suivre les babines.

Thank you for the link, followed, logged in and - well, they somehow killed part of the community and the willingness to give feedback.
Of course this is just my impression and I stopped commenting several month ago but I thought there might be at least some guys left... The Ideas-area seems to be plain dead. Not even a joke on the rick_kalman2 Testing Idea. No more bashing for feeding redundant entries. No discussion on ideas implications or work-arounds via plugin or...

I’ve just read through Rosemary’s post and, if they can fulfill the promise, the forum might just about be usable again.

We await with interest.

It doesn't sound like they're changing platforms - they refer to "their vendor" making page components open source. I kinda doubt FMI is going to reverse engineer said code to any large extent.

My general reading of Rosemary's post is that not a whole lot is going to be improved. IMHO, they need to kick what they have to the curb and start over with a better solution. But I'm guessing their SalesForce contract won't let them.

Nope. On top of the interface that is * this was censored *, accessing the community on an iPad is more than a pain. I can't tell exactly how they build a page, but look likes it's not done in one shot, but multiple shots, What'S the reason ? Too often the page starts to display, for example the header and then stops. The I need to press refresh and cancel multiples times in order to get the page completely loaded. In the mean time I get messages stating that Internet doesn't work or that my browser is not supported., sure Safari on iPadOS 13.

I hope users' pain will be over, but I guess it may be long.

One thing is funny, one FileMaker developer sells it's product against SalesForce.
