I lost a linux vm twice after upgrades - and if You are using a mac, You buy that thing and after half an hour it‘s productive - set up by a joe doe - user.

Markus, things are always - well most pf the time - more complicated under Linux. Can't tell if it's a feature or a bug . Under Windows things are simple, but they are broken too often.

Looks like Claris got themselves lost in the marketing words maze they created. The message to customers is confused and confusing:

I already suspected that Claris Pro and Claris Server run on the very same Draco engine than FileMaker Pro and Filemaker Server.

I just watch the presentation on Richard Carlton TC, again thanks to Markus.

Here are a few points from the presentation:

1. FileMaker development will still occurs, it is not stopped
2. There are two platforms available from Claris:
   • FileMaker Platform, the one that has been with us a long term
   • Claris Platform, Claris Studio, Claris Pro, Claris Server, etc.
3. Buying the Bundle, you get both platforms
4. Some functionalities are not yet available in Claris Platform, they will come
   • Access without Internet connection
   • Active Directory / OAuth
   • ODBC / JDBC
5. Claris Server is Linux only
   • Richard Carlton explained that having to maintain a server on a single OS takes much less work
6. Claris Pro uses the .claris file extension. A converter exists to translate .fmp12 files to .claris files.
7. The freemium product provides only the Claris Platform

But you have no direct access to the MongoDB server behind it.
