In simplified there are three parties

  1. Those who bash Claris and every business and development decision they make
  2. Those who defend Claris to their last breath
  3. Most of us who appreciate what Claris do but can also be reasonably critical if needed

Third party is most probably the majority. Like in every area of life those who hate and those who love will keep most of the voice. Rest of us have to learn filter the noise and find what's essential.

As this is a great platform unfortunately most of the ongoing discussion has been about the state of FM, not finding solutions to problems we find in every day development.

I do enjoy both type of discussions as long as everyone stays respectful. We have to agree a lot is happening with Claris so it makes for numerous discussions about the company and its initiatives (branding, products, pricing, ...). In the past, the most that was happening was the new version release across pro/go/wd/server + the revised licensing. They got us chatting and I see it as a good thing. The day no one cares about their initiatives will be a sad day that I do not want to see happen.
