Here's an outline of the setup I use:
- M1 mac mini with 16G RAM, 256 or 512GB SSD
- Ventura 13.x (latest version)
- FileMaker 19.x (latest 19 version)
- 3 sets of backups:
- Time Machine (hourly) local backups
- Super Duper (daily) local backup
- Arq Backup, backing up to an Amazon AWS S3 (offsite) container
Uptime is excellent, with a few exceptions:
- WebDirect in FMS19 sometimes crashes under extremely heavy use. See: Ventura 13.6 / httpd / apache / FileMaker server 19.6.3 issues - #18 by xochi
- Setting the power manager settings on the M1 take a few tricks to avoid the server going to sleep. See: Ventura 13.2 / FMS 19.6.3 Upgrade Gotchas
Aside from those issues, which can be avoided, uptime is flawless.
