We're setting up a pair of sign-in sign-out kiosks in FIlemaker for a school I'm working with using iPads and Filemaker go (see picture below). Two Question:
is it possible to have the iPad auto-take a photo whenever someone signs in, so we know if someone is signing in their friend and we have a record of who signs in? This would have be transparent in the background, not a multi-step process where they take a picture and click on things to upload.
Can they use keycards, or for the few students who have working phones, easy to issue passes on their iPhones and Android to "tap" the iPad (or an attached device) to log in/out? Or possibly an ID that they scan the bar code, can that work with Filemaker go?
I have this setup at a few clients now, as a time card program. The person enters a PIN at one company, or scans a bar code at another, then taps clock in or clock out, and the camera app opens.
We have had problems where an employee would clock in/out their friends; the picture has eliminated that practice.
There is no control I am aware of that will automatically take the picture - the camera function has not been exposed to programmatic control; it requires the user to tap the shutter button and then tap the button to accept the picture. No upload per se, just take the photo and close the camera app.
In some ways this is a good thing, as getting the person's face framed in the camera window is not automatic.
