FileMaker Pro 2025:

  • Windows: FileMaker Pro wouldn't start after updating to version 22.0.2 using Help > Check for Updates.
  • Windows: When FileMaker Pro was upgraded to FileMaker Pro 2025 and the previous version was kept, checking for updates in the previous version appeared to upgrade but didn't actually update the version.

Any ideas when Claris will release FMS that understands where the license file is (in Downloads) and doesn’t make me re-import it every time I start FMS?

I've never experienced that problem. I haven't checked recently but at one point Claris was advising that the installer would look for the license in the downloads folder.

Yes, FMS used to know how to look in the Downloads folder. There are several reports about this issue on the Claris forum.

I guess they laid off the regression testing team or, from my experience, never had one to begin with.

I don't have any production users on FMS 22, but I typically have the license cert in the same directory as the installer (Mac OS or Linux); a folder within the Downloads folder. I've not been asked to browse to it. I have needed to replace the certificate (download a new one) a time or two, but that's a different issue.
