Fmcloud.fm new admin console

If you have a server on fmcloud.fm, you can now enjoy a nice, brand new, beautiful admin console.
It's full of features that the native one doesn't have, among which:

  • Restart a specific server component (adminserver, fmse, httpserver…)
  • Download a backup (with or without the container data)
  • Restore a backup (with or without the container data)
  • Move a database
  • Rename a database
  • Open/Close all databases of a specific folder
  • Open a database in FileMaker Pro or share the link
  • Open a database in Web Direct or share the link
    …

And… it has a button to open the native app!

Available on all Starter/Pro plans. Requires us to restart the server once to install it. You can use this opportunity to request a server upgrade (free of charge, of course)

Will following scenario be possible with fmcloud console?

  1. Download backup without containers
  2. Do data migration locally (development version to production version update)
  3. Upload migrated version to server by replacing current database file with data migrated file with existing containers in server staying in place

So basically do the whole database update thing without using filezilla and update scripts etc as currently had to do?

Yes, that is already possible.
The only thing is that you must Remove the production file between 2 and 3 (Remove without containers).
That said, note that both OttoFMS and Devin can be installed on your containers, which makes it easy to do your migration online instead of locally.
