What are best practices for very wide layouts

Often clients come to me with very wide spreadsheets, which I can easily put into FIlemaker in a pretty, and easy to use way... but sometimes they want something that's simply too wide to fit on the screen.

What I want to do is "freeze column" like you would in a spreadsheet so the names stay on the left and everything else scrolls, but I can't figure out how to make something like that work in Filemaker.

Usually I fall back on either splitting it up onto two screens, or stacking things. In the example below I was able to stack things smartly and clearly, but that's not always the case (especially with some of the school districts I work with which have VERY SMALL screens on their laptops and tones of information to process).

Is there any "Trick to being able to lock "some" of the screen and scroll the rest horizontally, while locking them together vertically?
