FileMaker Upload to Host Error: "Invalid Name and Password"

I'm trying to upload a FileMaker file to a host, but I keep getting an error that says "invalid name and password." I've double-checked my credentials, and they seem correct. The account I'm using has Full Access privileges, so I’m not sure what’s going wrong.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? What could be causing it, and how can I resolve it?

Thanks in advance for your help

You need the credentials of a server admin to be able to upload a file.

I am putting in the correct credentials.. Is it possible this could be a security type of block?

You mentioned

That usually means "for the file". Which credentials do you use for the login to the FileMaker Server's admin-console? These are needed for uploading.

And in the file what is set under the menu "Sharing/Share with FileMaker Clients…"?

You may wish to check the permissions on the destination folder (if different than other working files) and it's parent/child levels as well. It may not be related, but we don't always get error messages with fully informed text content. Depending on how the destination folders were originally created, there may be a Read/Write/Owner issue.

If you navigate to the folder of a working file, you should be able to see the folder permissions and use the same.

Also, I've had clients' IT people contact me with this problem and it turned out they were copy/pasting credentials from an Excel file where they were capturing a trailing space in the pw stored in the Excel cell.

There could be a missing [Extended Privileges] --> Screenshot

I got excited to check this, but no thats not it either...

Can you double double confirm you're entering the FileMaker Server credentials when uploading (not the Full Access credentials for the file itself).

It wasn't clear to me which one you're entering based on previous comments.

Best,
Josh
